A Pandemic Outing
As we all know, Goa, is famous for tourism. People from all across the world come to Goa for its magnificent tourist spots. I'm pretty sure that there'll be many goan people who have heard of a spot but have not managed to reach there or who will be unaware of certain tourist spots. Goa is known for its attractive beaches, the forts that remind us of the Portuguese rule, and many more.
Well, all of this had come to a standstill due to the outbreak of the pandemic. The season that would fill Goa with people from across the world had passed away without them, in fact without anyone, as everything had been closed. People were so afraid that they would not even move out of their houses, other then the grocery store.
But then, with time, everything began to come back to normal as everything seemed under control and Goa was declared a green zone. Over confidence reigned supreme about the fact that Goa was safe. As a result the cases in Goa were not just detected but also shot up to about a thousand and there was no sign of cases decreasing in number.
But eventually, as days passed by, people realised that if things came to a standstill then there would be a major crisis in the world. No jobs would lead to unemployment which in turn would lead to poverty and that would mean that people would be unable to buy even their basic necessities. Starvation would lead to death. People then began working but by taking their precautionary measures.
Now coming back to the topic, since my family and me had not been for an outing for quite a while on account of the pandemic, we suddenly decided to go at least on a long drive. It was a fine Sunday, the weather was pleasant enough for us to make up our minds on going out. As I've mentioned at the start , though we live in Goa there are many places we might have heard of but never been to. So we decided to visit a place too.
One such place that I've heard of a lot is Cabo de Rama. I heard a lot of it from my friends and family, not to mention I've also learned about it in History, but I had never really got a chance to be there. So on our way to the fort we suddenly came across the national bird of our country fly past our car and descend into the fields. Oh! What a sight it was of the peacock with is tail spread out showing the lovely colors on it. This I feel was the best part of our outing.
We reached our destination at around 11,there was no much crowd. The place is beautiful, with a lot of fresh breeze making the strands of my hair fly into my eyes and mouth, and tickle my nostrils. The view of the beach from the top of the fort was amazing. We didn't go down as the steps there were wet and slippery. So we just watched the beautiful scenario from a height and clicked a lot of pictures.
The greyish black color of the sky warned us that it was time for us to leave. And by abiding by the warning we did a great thing. As soon as we reached the car and were all set to leave, it began raining so heavily that we had to drive pretty slowly on our way back home. But the outing was worth the trouble we took to come back as we finally felt relaxed and refreshed after a long time.
To our good luck everything went well - we reached our destination easily, had an amazing day out with all worries thrown to the air, just busy enjoying Goa's natural beauty around us. We returned home with fantastic memories of a wonderful day out with family even in difficult times.
